The Aluminium Myth…

Scare stories relating to antiperspirants causing cancer and Alzheimer's have been circulating the Internet for some years now. The reasoning behind this suggestion is without evidence and based on a flawed understanding of how and what role sweating plays in regulating our body's physiology. Antiperspirants are accused of blocking the sweat ducts and thus preventing the excretion of toxins that eventually find their way into the lymph glands causing a mutation of cancer cells. This is biologically incorrect science; toxins in the body are excreted mainly via the liver, with the kidneys and lungs also playing a part. Furthermore, the lymph glands are not connected to the sweat ducts and no toxin deposits have ever been detected in them. The aluminium content of antiperspirants, along with other constituents, have also been charged with causing long-term harmful effects, however, such is the widespread use of antiperspirants, governments worldwide have conducted extensive research into the safety of these products and they have been declared absolutely safe.
